Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry
During March and April, members donated 781 items plus nine $10.00 gift cards to the Co-Op. Thanks so much for your response to our Easter food drive and monthly requests for specific items. Our targeted foods for June will be desserts, cakes, muffins, pudding mixes, Jello, and cookies.
Did you know you can support the Co-Op when shopping at Kroger? Your purchases can count toward the money the Co-Op receives each quarter through the Kroger Community Rewards program. All you need to do is register your Kroger Plus card and link it to the Co-Op. Once your card is linked, it's good for a year. Instructions and links are on the Co-Op web site.
Children's Summer Lunch Program
June 11th will be the last Sunday to contribute juice boxes for the Children's Summer Lunch program run by The Village of Hope and Lawrenceville First Methodist Church. This program delivers about 400 bag lunches to children who live in areas known to have high concentrations of children who receive free lunches or reduced cost school lunches. If you would like to help make sandwiches and pack bags, talk to Cheryl Adams.
April noisy Sunday monies totaled $86 and was donated to the summer lunch program to purchase snacks for the lunches. We will collect juice boxes from 5/21 thru 6/11 for the summer lunch program in lieu of a Noisy Sunday in May and June.
CWF continues to collect hearing aids and glasses to benefit the community, box tops and Campbell soup labels to benefit education, pop tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald Houses and new and slightly used socks for the Lawrenceville Baptist Church clothing ministry. Collection boxes are in the church narthex and in the downstairs small fellowship hall. Box tops, soup labels, and socks can be given to Cheryl Adams.
Bake and Take Ministry:
At our June 10 meeting, we plan to pack boxes full of baked goodies and fruit to take to our church shut-ins. The meeting begins at 9:00 with Bible study and business meeting at 9:30. So bake some goodies or purchase some items... preferably soft items without nuts and bring them to the meeting. We will deliver the boxes after the meeting.
Our Women's Gathering/Breakfast will be held at the church on June 24th at 9:00 am. We have kits to make tie-lap blankets to work on during the gathering. The blankets will be donated to an organization serving children. So bring a breakfast item large enough to share and join us for food, fellowship and creating blankets for children.
